Disposable temporary email
The idea of a temporary email address imagines the images of criminal hackers and the criminal part of the Internet from which most of us prefer to stay away. But there are a number of legitimate reasons why you can use one-time email addresses - reasons why many people use them regularly. Here are some of them:
- You want to subscribe to the club’s club card but don’t want to receive advertising with new products. Use a one-time email and you will never have to read these messages - and if the store is suddenly hacked, your address will not be stolen.
“You just wrote a great web application and want to test it before you publish it.” Create 100 one-time emails for use with dummy accounts and test for health.
- You want to register a second account in a web application - perhaps another account in IFTTT to automate a second account on Twitter. In both cases, you will need another email address, so instead of registering another address, use a one-time email.
- You want to write an anonymous message to the newspaper editor. With paper mail you can simply send a letter without a return address, and using a one-time email is one way to do this online.
These are just a few reasons why you can choose to use one-time email addresses. Have you used one-time mail?
The mailbox address can be used to send spam or simply hacked with subsequent unpleasant consequences - most often theft of confidential data. Of course, you can create a separate mailbox, but again you will need to register and spend time on this.
